The most iconic agate application. At 1 cm thickness, mounted in front of an LED light frame, the stone transmits light through its translucent banding to create a glowing panel of natural colour. Brazilian Blue Agate produces a vivid cobalt glow; Crystal Agate glows white; Yellow Agate creates a warm amber light. This specification is widely used in five-star hotel lobbies, reception counters, restaurant bar fronts and luxury retail showrooms worldwide.
At 2–3 cm thickness, agate slabs provide the structural strength required for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanity tops, bar tops and island surfaces. The non-porous, resin-reinforced surface is easy to clean and maintain. We offer agate slabs from a minimum of 2 ft × 2 ft (60 × 60 cm) up to a maximum of 350 cm × 190 cm. Custom sizes within this range are available on request. Most project-grade slabs are supplied in 120 × 60 cm or 240 × 120 cm standard formats.
We offer agate slabs in 1 cm, 2 cm, 3 cm and 4 cm thickness. For backlit wall panels, 1 cm is recommended for maximum light transmission. For countertops, vanity tops and tabletops, 2–3 cm provides the structural strength required. The 4 cm thickness is used for thick-edge countertops and bespoke furniture pieces.
Yes. Natural agate is semi-translucent with a refractive index of 1.53 to 1.54. When a 1 cm agate slab is mounted in front of LED lighting, light passes through the stone and illuminates its natural banding and crystalline depth. Brazilian Blue Agate glows cobalt blue; Crystal Agate glows white; Yellow Agate produces a warm amber glow. This is the most popular specification for hotel reception counters, bar fronts and luxury feature walls.
Brazilian agate from Rio Grande do Sul is known for bold concentric banding and high translucency — ideal for backlit installations. Indian agate from Rajasthan displays softer, finer banding with more varied natural coloration. Both types are sourced and processed to the same quality standards at our Kishangarh facility.
Agate slabs are primarily recommended for indoor applications. While the stone itself is durable (MOH 6.5–7), the resin backing can be affected by prolonged UV exposure and temperature extremes. For covered outdoor areas such as sheltered terraces or under-roof bar fronts, agate can be used with UV-stable sealants. Consult your stone fabricator before specifying agate for fully exposed outdoor use.
